Hanna Marine Alkalinity Reagents (dKH) 25 tests (HI772-26)
It is a package with reagents for 25 tests. The reagents are pre-measured, to facilitate use and minimize dosage errors. They are manufactured with high purity chemicals and carry a lot number and expiration date. The measurement method adopted is the colorimetric method — that is, the reaction produces a color change (from yellow to green or blue) that you measure with the instrument. First, you zero the Checker HC with a sample (usually distilled water or the sample, depending on the instructions).
You add the HI772-26 reagent to the sample (specific amount as indicated in the instructions).
You place the sample container (cuvette) into the device.
You press the measurement button and the instrument calculates the alkalinity and displays it in dKH units.
The device “reads” the color shade resulting from the reaction and converts this into an alkalinity value.
The reagents should be stored according to the manufacturer’s instructions — usually cool, protected from light.
