Mayaca fluviatilis (or in Greek Mayaka of the river) is an aquatic plant, particularly popular in aquariums due to its soft, delicate appearance and rapid growth.
Morphology:
Leaves: Very thin, linear and soft, resembling needles. They are bright green to greenish in color and grow in a circle around the stem.
Stem: Thin, flexible and vertical, with rapid growth under good conditions.
Height: Can reach 20-30 cm or more.
Growth: Very fast, especially in rich light and good conditions.

Origin: South and Central America (Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, etc.)
Requirements:
Light: Moderate to bright light. In low light, growth is delayed and the leaves become thinner.
CO2: Not necessary, but significantly enhances the growth and vigor of the plant.
Temperature: 20–28°C
pH: 5.5 – 7.5
Water hardness (GH): Soft to moderate (0–12 dGH)
Cultivation & Maintenance:
Easily propagated by cutting the tops and planting in the substrate.
Ideal for planting in the middle or back of the aquarium.
Prefers a nutritious substrate or liquid fertilizer, especially with iron.
Due to its rapid growth, it requires regular pruning to prevent it from shading other plants.
