Xiphophorus Helleri Kohaku Red/White
Peaceful fish, ideal for social aquariums. Males may show territorial behavior among themselves, it is good to have 1 male for every 2–3 females. Active, lively and curious.
The Kohaku Red/White variety has strong white and red patterns, inspired by the Japanese koi varieties “Kohaku”. The body is white or off-white, with strong red or orange areas on the head, back and base of the tail. Males have the characteristic sword on the lower tail (caudal fin extension). Females larger, without a “sword”, with a fuller body. Maximum size: 10–12 cm (males slightly smaller).
Diet: Omnivorous species. Prefers quality flake, pellets and vegetable supplements (spirulina, boiled spinach). Supplemented with live or frozen foods (daphnia, bloodworms, brine shrimp) for better colors and reproduction.
