Stoffels Bucephalandra brownie 'Ghost' In-vitro
It is a rare aquatic plant variety of the Araceae family, popular with aquascapers for the striking, “ghost-like” appearance of its leaves. The in-vitro (tissue culture) form means that the plant is grown in sterile conditions, free from snails, algae or other unwanted organisms.
Common Mistakes to Avoid:
Burying the root in the substrate, leads to rot. Secure it gradually to rocks or wood with a little aquarium glue or thin thread.
Abrupt changes in water parameters.
Very intense, directly focused light without shading, increases algae.
With stable, mild parameters, proper placement and patience, this plant can become a focal point in your aquascape

Scientific name: Bucephalandra sp. ‘Brownie Ghost’
Origin: Borneo (tropical currents with flow)
Plant type: Epiphyte, grows on rocks and wood, not in the substrate.
Size: Often small to medium (about 3-10 cm) depending on conditions.
Leaves: Dark green to dark brown/black with textures or soft iridescent reflections — the characteristic “ghost” effect.
Growth rate: Slow, which makes it ideal for detailed aquascaping.
Light: Low to medium light is ideal
CO2 & Fertilization: Does not require CO2, but adding CO2 improves growth, leaf density, and color expression.
Water Parameters:
pH: ~6.0–7.5 (mildly acidic to neutral)
Temperature: 22–28 °C
Tolerates a wide range of water hardness, but stable parameters help prevent “melting”.
