Blau Refractometer
The Blau Refractometer is a handheld optical measuring device that allows you to accurately measure the salinity / density of water.
A refractometer is an essential tool if you have a saltwater aquarium (reef or marine) or an aquarium with organisms that require a specific salinity.
Main features:
It has ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation), meaning the device corrects the reading taking into account the water temperature for a more accurate result.
It has a special scale for seawater (salinity / specific gravity) for use with aquariums that have seawater or medium saline water.
Includes: dropper for taking a water sample, small screwdriver for calibration, cleaning cloth, protective case.
Solid construction with protective parts so that the lenses / prism are not damaged.

Calibration & accuracy
Practical measurement steps:
Open the prism cover.
Put a few drops of water from the aquarium (with the provided dropper) on the prism.
Close the cover so that there are no bubbles or excessive vapors.
Look through the lens/optics (eyepiece) and read the scale reading.
If the device has an adjustment feature, use the small screwdriver to align the reading with the standard.
Frequency of checks:
In reef aquariums at least once a week (or more) due to the sensitivity of corals.
In simpler marine aquariums at each water change or whenever there is a suspicion that the density has changed.
