Copepods are small copepod crustaceans that are often used as live food for fish in aquariums, especially in marine but also in some freshwater cases.
Characteristics:
Size: Tiny (0.2–2 millimeters depending on the species).

They are relatively easy to grow in a container with aeration and microalgae (e.g. Nannochloropsis) as food.
They require stable water parameters and filtration to avoid dying from ammonia.
They can be kept alive for several days in the refrigerator, at a temperature of 4–8 °C, with limited movement.
