Microrasbora rubescens is a small tropical freshwater fish from the Cyprinidae family. It is known for its red-orange color and lively behavior, which is why it is often used in small or planted aquariums. The species comes from Southeast Asia, mainly from Myanmar, where it lives in small streams and calm waters with rich vegetation.
Behavior:
It is a schooling fish and should be kept in at least 6–10 individuals.
If there are few of them, they can become stressed and hide.
It swims mainly in the middle and upper zone of the aquarium.
It is omnivorous and eats small foods: micro pellets, crushed flakes, artemia, daphnia, small frozen food
Feeding: 1–2 times a day in small quantities.
It coexists well with small peaceful fish such as: Paracheirodon innesi, Corydoras pygmaeus, Boraras brigittae etc.
Avoid large or aggressive fish because they may eat them.
