In nature, it is mainly found in shallow reefs of the Indo-Pacific, where there is intense lighting and strong water circulation. In marine aquariums, it is considered a coral for more experienced hobbyists, as it requires very stable water parameters.

Phosphorates (PO4): 0.01 – 0.05 ppm
Nutrition: Acropora obtains most of its energy from the symbiotic algae Zooxanthellae through photosynthesis.
