Echinophyllia sp. is a genus of hard corals belonging to the family Lobophylliidae. They are popular among marine aquarists due to their striking colors and unique morphology.
Form: Usually grows as a flat or slightly wavy coral with colonies resembling a "saucer" or leaf. It often has depressions and relief shapes.
Color: Striking colors such as green, blue, red, orange and purple, often with strong fluorescent elements. Lighting in the aquarium can affect the intensity of the colors.
Mouths: Each polyp has a prominent mouth in the center.
Polyps: They extend mainly at night.

Diet: Photosynthetic (with symbiotic zooxanthellae), but benefit from targeted feeding with planktonic foods or small food particles.
Aquarium location: Usually on the bottom or middle level of the aquarium, on a flat surface.
Aggressiveness: Can extend sweeper tentacles and "burn" neighboring corals — needs distance from other species.
