Acanthurus bariene, also known as the Blackspot Surgeonfish, is a relatively rare and lesser-known species of the Acanthuridae family. It is a striking fish with unique characteristics, rarely found in the aquarium trade, but has great biological and aesthetic value.
Behavior: Dynamic, semi-aggressive, especially towards other tangs
Diet: Primarily herbivorous (algae, plant preparations), but can also consume protein-rich food
Aquarium suitability: Rare – due to size and difficulty of adaptation. If used, requires a very large aquarium (800+ liters)
Difficulty of maintenance: High – due to size, sensitivity to parameters and rarity
