Corydoras sterbai is one of the most popular catfish species, known for its striking coloration and social behavior.

Size: 6–7 cm (males slightly smaller than females).
Body shape: Typical for Corydoras, with a stocky body and a down-turned mouth with "whiskers" for searching for food.
Coloration: Dark brown to gray body with white/yellowish spots in a regular pattern. The pectoral fins have a characteristic orange-yellow hue at the base.
Behavior: Absolutely peaceful and social, should be kept in groups (at least 6 individuals). Active on the bottom, digs the substrate in search of food.
Omnivorous benthic fish: Accepts sinking foods (pellets, wafers), frozen (bloodworms, daphnia, artemia) and live microfoods. They should not rely solely on the remains of other fish; they need targeted feeding on the bottom.
