Rasbora Espei
The Rasbora espei (also known as the Lambchop Rasbora due to the shape of the dark spot on its body) is a small, peaceful and beautiful schooling fish ideal for community aquariums.
Size: grows to about 3–4 cm.
Shape/Color: Body slender and slightly pinkish-orange with a characteristic dark triangular mark.
Behavior: Very calm, social fish that feels safe in groups.
Lifespan: about 4–6 years in good conditions.
Minimum aquarium size: 60 cm long (70+ liters) for a school.
Schooling fish: best kept in a group of at least 8–10 individuals.
Temperature: 24–28 °C.
pH: 5.5–7.0 (prefers slightly acidic).
Hardness (dGH): 2–10.
Decoration: planted aquarium with shaded areas and free swimming space. Loves plants with thin leaves (e.g. Limnophila, Hygrophila, Vallisneria).
Water flow: gentle, simulating the calm currents of tropical streams.
Lighting: moderate; in lower lighting its colors appear more intense.

Avoid large or aggressive fish that will see it as food.
