Procedure for setting up and maturing a new freshwater aquarium

  • STEP 1) Place the aquarium in the space as far away as possible from windows and radiators.

  • STEP 2) Meticulous washing of the aquarium, gravel and decorations ONLY with tap water.

  • STEP 3) Installation of gravel and decorations with the desired layout.

  • STEP 4) Fill the aquarium with water (tap / filter / osmosis) by placing a plate on the gravel so that it does not mix.

  • STEP 5) Install the filter and thermostat and turn them on.

  • STEP 6) Introduction of the amount of antichlorine that corresponds to the liters of the aquarium (always according to the instructions of the product).

  • STEP 7) One day later, and if the temperature has stabilized at about 260C, we administer the first dose of bacteria (always according to the product instructions).

  • STEP 8) A few days after STEP 7, we place a small number of "easy fish" in the aquarium.

  • STEP 9) Daily limited feeding in the aquarium.

  • STEP 10) Measurement of water parameters at regular intervals until the nitrogen cycle is complete.
