Ent Wood is one of many types of decorative wood commercially available for use in aquariums, especially planted and biotopes. It is not a "scientific" name for the wood, but a trade term used by suppliers (such as Mopani, Red Moor, Spider wood, etc.).
Appearance: pieces of wood with strange curves, roots and branches, reminiscent of carved branches.
Color: light brown to dark, often with natural "waters".
Texture: hard wood, resistant to water, which sinks after soaking.
Decoration: due to its special shape it is used for "aquascaping" (artistic setting up of aquariums), creating a natural landscape for plants, moss and fish.
Safe for fish: after proper preparation (soaking/boiling).
Tannins: releases some tannins into the water, which slightly yellows it. This is not dangerous – on the contrary, it imitates natural "blackwater" and favors many species (tetras, rasboras, shrimps).
Parameter adjustment: helps to reduce pH and hardness (especially useful for South American and Southeast Asian fish).
Shelter: crevices and branches offer hiding places for shrimps and small fish.
Plant surface: you can tie Anubias, Microsorum, Bucephalandra or moss (e.g. Java moss) to it.  ...More

Preparation before introduction into the aquarium:
Rinse with hot water to remove dust/soil.
Boil (1–2 hours) if possible, to remove microorganisms and to saturate so that it sinks.
If it does not fit in a pot, place it in a bucket with hot water and change the water every 1–2 days for 1–2 weeks.
If the wood floats, you can secure it with a stone or submerge it until it is saturated.
In general, Ent Wood is safe and very good for decorative aquascaping. The only "negative" is the yellowing of the water (which many consider natural and beautiful).
