STOFFELS

It is one of the most popular foreground plants, especially in planted aquascapes. Due to its small size and fast growth, it forms a beautiful, dense "carpet" on the bottom of the aquarium. It is a hydrophilic creeping plant native to New Zealand. It has small, green, opposite leaves on short stems. With proper care, it grows quickly and creates a dense layer of foliage in the foreground of the aquarium, reminiscent of a lawn.
Ideal for:
Planted aquariums of the "Nature Aquarium" type
Aquascaping with the goal of a low foreground carpet
Advanced hobbyists who provide proper lighting, CO2 and fertilization  ...More

Aquarium Conditions:
Position: Foreground plant
Height: 2–5 cm
Light: Very strong (High light) — necessary to keep it low and not "rise"
CO2: Necessary for optimal growth (CO2 injection is strongly recommended)
Water temperature: 20–28°C
pH: 5.0 – 7.5
Substrate: Rich in nutrients — ideal active substrate for planted aquariums
Care & Planting:
Plant Glossostigma in small tufts (1–2 cm) with a few leaves each, 2–3 cm apart, to spread more easily.
Requires regular trimming to keep it dense and low.
In insufficient light or without CO2, it tends to grow vertically instead of horizontally, losing the "carpet" effect.
