STOFFELS

Taxiphyllum sp. ‘Spiky’ (known as Spiky Moss) is a species of moss with a characteristic, more “spiky” and bulky growth than other Taxiphyllum, reminiscent of small branches of a conifer.
Its in vitro form is free of snails, algae and parasites, which makes it safe for introduction into clean or sensitive aquariums.
Growth form: Dense, triangular shoots with lateral leaves that give a “spiky” appearance.
Height: 3–10 cm, but spreads horizontally and vertically.
Color: Bright green, more vibrant in good conditions.
Growth rate: Moderate.
Use: Tied to roots, stones or decorations
Not planted in the substrate – tied with fishing line or thread to wood, stone or mesh until it “takes hold”.
Prune every few months to keep it dense and maintain its triangular shape.
Resistant to a wide range of conditions and to fish that pester plants, since it has no roots to uproot.  ...More

Aquarium conditions:
Temperature: 18–28 °C (can also tolerate cold water, up to ~15 °C)
pH: 5.5–7.5
GH: 1–10 °dGH
Lighting: Low to moderate
CO2: Not necessary, but helps with denser and faster growth
Water flow: Gentle to moderate, to avoid dirt buildup
Due to its structure, Spiky Moss offers a very good hiding place for small fish or shrimp, but in aquariums with large predators it serves more as a stable decorative moss if tied to a heavy surface.
