STOFFELS

Vesicularia montagnei (Christmas Moss) is one of the most recognizable and beloved mosses in aquascaping, thanks to its characteristic shape that resembles Christmas tree branches.
Its in vitro form is cultivated in a sterile environment, without snails, algae or parasites, ideal for clean introduction into the aquarium.
Growth form: The shoots have a triangular leaf arrangement, creating “twigs” that resemble a fir tree.
Height: 3–10 cm, with a tendency to spread horizontally and vertically.
Color: Vivid green, more intense in good conditions.
Growth rate: Moderate, faster than Flame Moss but slower than Java Moss.
Use: Attached to wood, stones or mesh.
It is not planted in the substrate – it is tied with fishing line or thin thread to a hard surface until it “takes hold”.
It requires periodic pruning to maintain its triangular shape and avoid the accumulation of organic matter.
Very resistant and adaptable, suitable for beginners.  ...More

Aquarium conditions:
Temperature: 20–28 °C (can withstand up to ~15 °C)
pH: 5.5–7.5
GH: 1–10 °dGH
Lighting: Low to moderate
CO2: Not necessary, but helps with density and more intense color
Water flow: Gentle to moderate, helps avoid dirt
Christmas Moss is excellent for covering roots and stones in aquariums with large predatory fish, as long as it is well tied to heavy surfaces so that it does not come loose from the movement or curiosity of the fish.
