Because plants use iron to produce chlorophyll, iron deficiency leads to chlorination or yellowing of younger leaves. The stems may also appear short and slender. If the deficiency is severe and prolonged, each new leaf appears lighter than the previous leaf. Flourish Iron ™ is a concentrated supplement (10,000 mg / L) of iron gluconate. Use 1 cap (5 mL) for every 200 L (50 US gallons) or as required to maintain approximately 0.10 mg / L of iron. For smaller doses, note that each cover thread is approximately 1 mL. Use a test to monitor iron concentrations. Due to the quick use, try within 30 minutes. Use as needed to combat signs of iron deficiency (usually appearing in new growth) which include: tissue chlorination (yellowing) between veins and short and slender stems.
